Saturday 28th December - **** Walk at Sixt - Travelling

We had a brilliant morning walking up the river from our favourite parking place at Sixt and we really really fancy having a go at cross country skiing – we fancied it before but our interest has been renewed but don’t know if it will be this holiday. It was a beautiful morning too – lots of sunshine:) We had lunch at the van then left Sixt to start our travels to meet up with the Hurrells in Bourg St. Maurice. We called in at Lidl in Cluse then carried on. It is supposed to be about 80 miles and looked a very easy journey on the map but it was a nightmare because of the fact that there were several ski resorts along the route and then we got to Albertville just as the whole of the Alps accommodation inhabitants were driving along the bottleneck from Albertville to Bourg. Cant believe we hit it at that time after all our experience! The whole journey took us about 5 hours and we were in a traffic jam for ages! Finally got there and found the MGM apartments Le Coeur d’Or residence really easily – it is just before the roundabout where you go up to La Rosiere. The Hurrells made us very welcome and Linda had made Cottage Pie at home and brought it frozen so we had that for dinner with Neil, Linda, Lee, Will, Simon Hill and his Russian girlfriend Natasha. Had a nice evening, it’s a lovely apartment and after I put all the stuff away, and had a shower we went to bed in our humungous bed.
